Drawing from a wealth of experience in medical staff legal issues, Rebecca counsels hospitals, health systems, medical staffs, physician groups, medical foundations, governing boards, surgery centers and other healthcare organizations on complex medical staff and operational healthcare issues. With a vast knowledge of all issues related to medical staff law, she regularly advises on issues related to peer review, governance, credentialing and privileging, and governing documents interpretation. Whether offering guidance on challenging physician and practitioner matters – such as investigations, corrective action proceedings, or fair hearings and appeals – or navigating sensitive issues related to practitioner impairment or behavioral, she helps clients approach these matters strategically, with a focus on fairness, transparency, and long-term goals.

A significant part of Rebecca’s practice also encompasses regulatory and operational issues, such as emergency transfer obligations, telemedicine arrangements, scope of practice issues for advanced practice practitioners, and reporting responsibilities.

Her experience enables her to help organizations build structures that improve consistency, efficiency, and collaboration across the continuum of care. In that respect, she advises health care entities on complex integration initiatives, including formal medical staff unifications and the regional coordination of peer review and governance functions.

Rebecca is passionate about educating medical staff leaders, administrators, and medical staff professionals, and strives to help clients understand the legal framework in which they operate, empowering them to make informed decisions and proactively address emerging challenges. She regularly speaks at both the state and national levels and provides custom presentations and seminars on a wide range of topics.
